Below is a list of the current rules for the league:
Keepers And Draft:
- Managers can keep up to 6 veteran players and 1 rookie after each season.
- Keepers' deadline is to be decided in the offseason but will usually be 2 to 5 days prior to the draft.’'
- The draft order is determined as follows: Picks 1 through 6 are determined by the consolation bracket. The winner of the consolation bracket gets 1st pick and the last place in the consolation bracket gets 6th place. Picks 7th through 12th are determined by the playoffs bracket using the reverse order of the final finish. So, the league winner gets 12th pick, the runner-up gets 11th pick, etc. The only exceptions are picks 7th and 8th. The winner of the last place match in the playoffs receives the 7th pick. This helps prevent teams tanking that match.
Regular Season and Playoffs:
- 6 teams make the playoffs. The first 2 places get a bye during the first week of the playoffs.
- The teams that do not make the playoffs will compete in the consolation bracket.
- Owners should always field their most competitive roster. A competitive roster is subjective and is up to the owner’s own decisions about which players to play. However, if an owner is clearly and blatantly choosing to tank/lose a game by not fielding a competitive roster (e.g., benching a star player and playing a bench warmer instead), the league commissioner(s) could decide to impose penalties. Penalties are up to the commissioner(s) discretion and can range from a simple warning to a loss of a game, draft pick losses, or getting kicked out of the league.
Trading:
- All league trades need to be accepted by both managers in the Sleeper app and then posted on the WhatsApp group chat. No league vote is required. However, the commissioner(s) reserves the right to review and cancel a trade in the event of collusion.
- The trade deadline is week 11.
- Managers can trade players, picks, FAAB $, and keeper tags. Trades can also involve players or picks for future seasons, as long as all parties involved have paid their league dues for those seasons.
Pick’em Competition:
- The league runs a football pick'em competition against the spread each week. The winner of the competition will be awarded an extra veteran tag. The pick'em competition runs from week 1 until the league's championship week (usually the week before last in the NFL). In the event of a tie, the last week of the NFL will be used as a tiebreaker.
League Dues: Each year, each manager must pay $100 prior to the start of the offseason. No trades will be allowed by managers who have not paid yet. A trophy cost will be substracted from the total pot and the remaining funds will be divided amongst the top 3 finishers.
